As far as I’m concerned every home needs to have a bar cart.
A beautifully styled bar cart is an essential decorative feature that adds both a touch of pizazz and sophistication to your home, as well as functioning as a perfect entertainment piece, allowing you to keep necessaries like ice and napkins close at hand whilst serving guests their favourite cocktails and canapes.
The first essential is obviously a stylish bar cart which is the right size for your space and the right style for your home. A cart with castors is more versatile but not mandatory.
Colour, pattern and texture all come into play when styling your bar cart. So whilst the quality of the liquor is obviously an important factor, you can be forgiven for choosing some beverages solely on their display credentials and how their labels suit your colour scheme.
I for instance love the clean elegant lines of Inverroche Gin, and cannot resist the vintage appeal of the San Pellegrino label.
Tools like bartending books, bar spoons, swizzle sticks, and a few vintage pieces like decanters, a cocktail shaker and a soda syphon, are also key to creating a beautiful and functional cart.
Artisan salts and sugars, fresh mint leaves, and cinnamon sticks are tasty additions that also look great. Soda and tonic waters are a necessity.
